“RUSSIAN FILM INDUSTRY-2008:
FUTURE OUTLOOK”
WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 1ST-3RD JULY 2008 IN MOSCOW
A vision of the future Russian cinematography is spontaneous nowadays and affected by many random factors. Nevertheless, a stage of the fast proliferation of the cinematography is step by step interchanging by the period in which a competitive growth of the native films and maintenance, on this basis, of a steady progression of the industry in mid-term and long-term prospects become a strategic target of its development. And now is the right time for choosing new ways and new regulators, so today, more than ever, we need a close interaction between our state and business, big market players, and cinematographic public in relation to the current condition of the industry, the possibilities and the prospects of its development. Disconnected and often different directed initiatives can be discussed and coordinated within the framework of the business forum in order to ensure a progressive advance of different segments of the industry and the film industry in whole. The conference forum takes place in the year when the Russian cinematography celebrates its own 100th anniversary.
The conference forum initiators: the RF Ministry of Culture and the Independent Research Company “Movie Research” with the participation of the RF Union of Cinematographers, the Producers Guild, the Union of Moviemakers and the International press-club.
The following persons will take part in the conference forum: Alexander Avdeev, Alexander Golutva, Sergey Lazaruk, Nikita Mikhalkov, Karen Shakhnazarov, Vladimir Malyshev and other officials, top-managers of business structures, creative unions, and associations of the Russian film industry.
For the conference forum will be prepared the first public report “On condition of the Russian film industry, the possibilities and the prospects of its development till 2015”. “Generation of the Russian effective film industry: the agreed policy of the state, business and non-profit organizations” Memorandum is expected to be adopted following the results of the conference forum.
